(Updating the units section, gonna finish up tomorrow, edit it if ya want)
Line 1: Line 1:
Units in Caves are the characters or creatures that can perform actions.
+
'''''I'm currently updating this page, contribute and edit stuff if you want'''''

Units in Caves, not considering the player-character, can be categorized into 2 main categories, '''hostile units '''and''' friendly units'''.
+
-Caustic

'''Enemies '''usually refer to enemies of player which mean hostile units.
+
Units in Caves are the characters or creatures that can perform actions.

'''Enemies of an enemy''', say a skeleton, refer to the character and the units different from the '''faction''' of the skeleton.
+
Units are categorized into 8 races, '''Undead, Goblinoids, Guardians, Robots, Mutants, Demons, Beasts and Neutrals'''.

'''Elite units''' are units that causes blinking of the enemy sensor when detected. They have superior stats and weapons and more versatile combat pattern comparing to non-elite units.
+
Units are usually called enemies by players, but units include both friendly and hostile.

Killing an unit tends to drop items and weapons that the unit uses, besides items in the general reward pool.
+
'''Elites''' are units that have superior stats, weapons and a more versatile combat pattern comparing to non-elite units.

== Hostile Units ==
+
Units can drop items upon death, sometimes they might also drop their equipment and weapons. Item drop can depend on luck and difficulty.
Hostile units are units that are spawned hostile to the character. Hostile units have a common point in combat pattern. The hostile units near and with a passable way towards the character have a chance to notice the character and then start move towards the character. The closer the distance, the higher the noticing chance. Once the character is in their attack range, hostile units perform actions instead of further moving close towards the character. Ranged hostile units move away from their enemies when the clips/magazines are empty until reloading finishes. Enemies stop chasing the character when the distance between two is too long (~20 tiles).

Below tabled non-elite hostile units and their information. While each elite hostile unit is discussed separately.

The closer the distance, the higher the noticing chance. Once the target is in their attack range, units perform actions instead of further moving close towards the target. Ranged Units move away from their enemies when the clips/magazines are empty until reloading finishes. Units can run out of ammo, but slowly regenerate it over time. Units stop chasing their target when the distance between two is too long (~20 tiles).

Note that ''cave types'' here means the cave types that the unit can spawn there, but not including spawning in ways like magic altar summoning, beacons summoning and spawning inside elite rooms (structure).

Below shows the categories units fall into, their factions, locations where their found, their abilities

== Factions ==
Almost all units can be classified into one or more factions. Units from one faction attacks units not from their factions.
+
'''Factions''' further separate the categories and determine the units' behavior to one another. For example, units of the Skeletons faction are friendly to units of the Goblins faction, but hostile to units of the Ogres faction despite goblins and ogres being of the same category.
* Skeleton

** Friendly to Goblin, Guard, Mutant

The list below shows what factions are friendly to.

* Ogres
* Spider

* Slime

* Guard

** Friendly to Skeleton

* Robot

* Mutant

* Demon

* Factory

* Friendly

Some units are cross-factioned, like Mop-up Squad robots, some of them are half-skeleton and half-robot. Cross-factioned units enjoy not being attacked by units from the 2 factions, which is disadvantageous to character.

Units in Caves are the characters or creatures that can perform actions.

Units are categorized into 8 races, Undead, Goblinoids, Guardians, Robots, Mutants, Demons, Beasts and Neutrals.

Units are usually called enemies by players, but units include both friendly and hostile.

Elites are units that have superior stats, weapons and a more versatile combat pattern comparing to non-elite units.

Units can drop items upon death, sometimes they might also drop their equipment and weapons. Item drop can depend on luck and difficulty.

Units have a common point in combat pattern. The units near and with a passable way towards the target have a chance to notice the target and then start move towards the character.

Below shows the categories units fall into, their factions, locations where their found, their abilities

Factions

Factions further separate the categories and determine the units' behavior to one another. For example, units of the Skeletons faction are friendly to units of the Goblins faction, but hostile to units of the Ogres faction despite goblins and ogres being of the same category.

The list below shows what factions are friendly to.

  • Skeletons
    • Friendly to units of Goblins, Guardians, Robots and Mutants factions.
