Battle Axes

Battle Axes are one of the many melee weapons avaible in CavesRL, being very commom early in game, this type of axe is specifically designed for combat, and the blade is usually made out of iron or steel while their handling is made of a resistant wood.

Axes have the unique ability know as whirl damage, which essentially makes the player damage all enemies around himself/herself, this works as long as your foes are in the range of the melee weapon, this ability is very useful if you are in a crowded area as you can succesfully defend yourself without needing to retreat, however axes have a less centralized damage output, as their maximum damage can be higher than other melee weapons while the weaker strikers can deal a lower damage than most melee weapons of your current location.

Quality Variants (Battle Axe)

Just like most weapons, the standard Battle Axes also have a variation on their quality, you can expect the quality of your weapon depending where you found it, as some were stored in safe places and thus have are in a better state of conservation while others were ditched away and left to rot.

Feature Bonuses

Standard ////////////////////////////////////
Blunt -10% Critical Damage
Rusty -20% Critical Damage
Damaged -25% Critical Damage
Broken -30% Critical Damage

Be careful when picking your weapon, as depending on the quality many stats may change such as critical damage, the total damage dealt by the weapon, accuracy and many other aspects which can be different depending on the weapon choosen.

Special Variants (Battle Axes)

Special Variants are modified or even alternative versions of the standard weapon, each one has unique perks which can be very useful in certain situations, all special variants are rarer than the normal versions of the weapon but each can be found with moderate ease on some locations.

Blunt Weapons

Blunt weapons are very different than the average melee weapon in nearly every aspect, they are much simpler than other weapons, being composed of 2-4 parts and they do not have a blade of any kind.

So instead of cutting and piercing like any blade, blunt weapons do mainly blunt trauma on the targets which can stun the enemy depending on the area hit or even cause internal damage such as broken bones and hemorragies.

On Cavesrl there is currently 3 types of blunt weapons: Maces, Battle Hammers and Clubs, from which only 2 of them can be adquired by the player.

Maces

Maces are the most common type of Blunt weapon, being found with ease basically everywhere, they are usually considered to be a type of club with a heavy head on the end to deal powerful strikes.

Maces have the ability to ignore a high percentage of the enemies armor, rendering useless most of the protection used by units and can be used with a certain efficiency even by characters with poor melee skill, however they deal a very low damage compared to other melee weapons.

Quality Variations (Maces)

Just like most weapons, the standard Maces also have a variation on their quality, you can the quality of your weapon depending where you found it, as some were stored in safe places and thus have are in a better state of conservation while others were ditched away and left to rot.

Battle Hammers

Battle Hammers are very poweful melee weapons, as they have the abilities of both Maces and Battles Axes, hammers are apparently able to ignore a small percentage of the enemy's armor while also being able to damage several targets that are located on the same direction, (the latter ability is know as Blast Wave) Battle Hammers are very useful in most situations you may find yourself in, as they are able to destroy obstacles through an indirect hit and kill heavy armored enemies with a certain ease.

However, despite all of the abilities possed by the Hammers, they also have inherited the flaws of both Axes and Maces.

They deal less damage per attack just like a Mace, and require a high amount of strengh or melee skill to be used with efficiency, just like an Axe.

Quality Variations (Battle Hammers)

Just like most weapons, the standard Battle Hammers also have a variation on their quality, you can guess the quality of your weapon depending where you found it, as some were stored in safe places and thus have are in a better state of conservation while others were ditched away and left to rot.

Special Variants (Clubs)

Unlike most Special Variants, the special clubs cannot be found in any location, with exception of the Caves and they are randomly given to the Ogres on that cave type.
